Three Far North Queensland men have been sentenced to 10 years in prison, and another man 7 years, over the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl in a sugar cane paddock north of Cairns.

Aaron Anau, Jeffrey Banu, Tom Ingui and Peter Francis, aged between 34 and 43, were earlier this month found guilty of raping the woman in the boot of a car in 2017.

The Cairns District Court heard the woman fell asleep in the back seat of the car three of the men were in on a night out in December 2017.

The victim woke up in the boot of the car to one of the men raping her while the others stood metres away.

More to come.
